Avoid the intimidation factor as hundreds take the plunge for the first time. Includes a 2.5-mile swim along the shore in waist-deep water, 12-mile bike route and 3-mile run. The Strand Theatre is located in the heart of the Galveston Island Strand Historical District in the 1871 Oppermann building, 2317 Ships Mechanic Row. This award-winning, million-dollar restoration has created an elegant, intimate 200 seat theatre across from the historic Tremont House. All trolleys stop in front of the theatre; ample covered parking is available at the nearby Moody Parking Garage at 24th and Harborside.

The Galveston Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to mastering and performing the full range of symphonic literature. This ensemble of highly skilled amateur and professional musicians has been bringing the unforgettable experience of live performances to Galveston audiences since 1979 with a repertoire of compositions ranging from the baroque to the contemporary.
