Hotel Galvez - A Wyndham Historic Hotel - Galveston Texas Hotels

Once called the Queen of the Gulf, the Hotel Galvez is a Spanish colonial hotel located across the street from the beach and the Gulf of Mexico and approximately one hour from Houston International Airport. The hotel is only a trolley ride away from downtown Galveston, the Strand Historic District, shopping, and museums.

Hotel amenities include the pool (with swim-up bar), wading pool, hot tub, and tropical garden. The hotel was built in 1911 and is decorated with 1930s furnishings--with its lobby, music hall, parlors, loggia, and veranda evoking a bygone era. Bernardo's, the hotel's restaurant, offers continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a champagne Sunday brunch. For a fee, guests may golf at the Galveston Country Club and use the fitness center and tennis courts at the Galveston Racquet Club.

All rooms feature coffeemakers, irons and ironing boards, bathrobes, cable TV, high-speed Internet access, and Golden Door Spa Toiletries.
